We remember our first yoga class, so we know what its like to be a 'beginner'. Everyone has to start somewhere and we know it can be intimidating being the new student in class. That's why many of our yoga classes are specifically designed to offer beginners extra time and attention in a supported learning environment.
New yoga students can then find their confidence and learn proper alignment of yoga asanas (postures) and breathing techniques in the specific types of yoga we offer.
Yoga classes listed with 'beginners' are suitable for those completely new to yoga. However, if you have any questions or reservations please contact us directly and we can recommend the most appropriate class for you to start enjoying a yoga practice at The Exeter Yoga Workshop.
Come with an open mind and ask questions whenever you want more information! You don't need to bring anything, just your bare feet and a willingness to try something new.

'Moving into Mysore' is a 6-week beginners course ideal for complete beginners, rusty practitioners or anyone interested in experiencing the Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga environment.This short course is run regularly throughout the year, but limited to 6 people per course.

This fully detailed 2-day workshop will both prepare students for a Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga class and build the foundations of a sustainable home practice.

Traditionally the place for a beginner to learn the Ashtanga Yoga method is in a 'Mysore' class. In a Mysore Ashtanga Yoga class each student will receive individual instruction appropriate to level of student. This enables students to learn the Ashtanga Yoga practice at their own pace.
