Yoga Teacher

emma steventonAs a lover of all things health, fitness and wellness, it was obvious that yoga would become a huge part of my life when I signed up for my first ever class in a beginners ashtanga course in 2012. As soon as it finished I wanted more and soon discovered the sweaty world of hot, bikram-style yoga which I practiced religiously for around three years before turning my hand to hot power yoga. This ignited a fire in me like nothing ever had before; I loved the dynamic, powerful flows, the sense of strength and grounding it brought me and the incredible benefits I could see and feel in my body. Having practiced in studios across Edinburgh and Devon, I knew yoga had to be part of my bigger picture so I went on to obtain my 200 hour certificate teaching Power Yoga so I could share this passion and help others see the amazing power that yoga has, on so many different levels. The yoga I love is a yoga that is fun, dynamic and keeps me on my toes- literally!

More recently after realising my own life was very ‘yang’ heavy, I completed a 30-hour Yin Yoga teacher training which has totally transformed not only the way I now approach my own practice, but also my life off the mat.

Having been taught by some incredibly knowledgeable yoga teachers, I have a never ending hunger to learn more and am currently studying for further teacher training qualifications in Pre and Post Natal yoga, Yoga for Children, Hot Yoga and Freestyle ‘Fitness’ Yoga. I have diploma’s in both Personal and Sports Nutrition and fully believe that a holistic approach to health and wellbeing is the very best way to finding the healthiest and happiest version of yourself that you can be.

I can’t wait to see you on the mat!
