Learn the Foundation Principles of Going Upside!
Come and fly with us as we work towards towards getting you upside down in your yoga practice. We will explore the basics of Headstands, Forearm Balances and Handstand, and how to safely practice them. This is a workshop that is suitable for all levels of experience. Whether you are interested in inverting for the first time or already have an established inversion practice, come join us and take flight!
The Conscious Core (AM)
The Core is a buzzword in fitness and yoga circles alike, but having a ‘strong core’ in yoga does not mean having six pack abs! In Ashtanga Yoga we emphasise the inner core unit, which is awakened and strengthened through the correct practice of Uddiyana & Mula Bandha. Working together, these subtle actions create effortless buoyancy and lightness in every movement, the result of which is a sense of full bodily consciousness. Ultimately, the secret to ‘success’ in vinyasa yoga stems from this ability to awaken and fully integrate the subtle yoga body from head to toe. Come and find out how!
Flight School: Arm Balances & Inversions (PM)
Headstands, handstands & arm balances are empowering poses that develop inner strength, and require complete bodily integration, but going upside-down takes courage and a sense of humour.
Learn how to dissolve your fear, as we ‘lift off’ from the ground and experience life in zero gravity! Discover how to use the wall, partner support and props to go upside-down with ease and excitement. Even if you’ve never done these poses you’ll find the expansion, freedom and thrill that inversions bring. Come with an open mind and surprise yourself!
